On Thursday, October 23, the Filmoteca de Andalucía in Cordoba will be hosting one of the screenings in our Palestinian Film Festival. This time we will be watching a 1972 film classic by Tewfik Saleh that tells about the adventures of three Palestinians who want to emigrate in search of a better future.
The Dupes (Tewfik Saleh, 1972, 107 minutes)
Based on the short story “Men in the Sun,” the film follows the lives of three Palestinian refugees who try to cross the border between Iraq and Kuwait with the hope of finding jobs and better opportunities. In order to carry out their plan, they hire a driver who tries to smuggle them across the Iraqi desert in the water tank of his truck.
