Our film screenings in Cordoba are continuing as part of the Palestinian Film Festival that we have organized throughout the months of October, November and December. On Thursday, October 30, the Filmoteca de Andalucía will screening a disturbing thriller directed by Mahdi Fleifel.
To a Land Unknown (Mahdi Fleifel, 2024, 105 minutes)
After fleeing a refugee camp in Lebanon, two Palestinian cousins find themselves abandoned in Athens, living in a clandestine limbo. Desperately seeking a way to reach Germany, they somehow get caught up in an uncontrollable whirlwind of events. Inspired by films from New York (especially “Midnight Cowboy”), To a Land Unknown unfolds in the style of a thriller, disturbing and tragic with no embellishments. It offers a compelling, uncompromising, nuanced look at migrants’ living conditions.
