From February 10 to 14, the city of Cordoba will be hosting the international conference Ethics and Aesthetics in Islamic Heritage, organized by PLURIEL, with the cooperation of Casa Árabe, which will take part in the program by holding a special concert on February 12.
Casa Árabe is hosting the international conference Ethics and Aesthetics in Islamic Heritage, organized within the framework of the European PLURIEL project, which proposes interdisciplinary reflection on the ethical, aesthetic and cultural facets of Islamic heritage from historical, artistic and contemporary perspectives.
The conference will be bringing together international specialists to analyze Islamic heritage as a space for dialogue between tradition and modernity, addressing issues related to cultural transmission, artistic creation, memory and shared values in the Mediterranean and Islamic world.
Further information about the seminar
PLURIEL is a university research platform on Islam created at the initiative of the Federation of European Catholic Universities in 2014. Its main objective is to foster links between researchers working in Islamic studies and Islamic-Christian dialogue, with a specific focus on Eastern Christians, as well as promoting exchanges between the academic world and other role-players in society so as to overcome compartmentalization in research and develop innovative methodological tools.
PLURIEL works as a scientific space with an academic and social side, connecting research groups and professors with structured research centers, as well as fostering cooperation amongst researchers from European and Middle Eastern universities to share knowledge and approaches.
Today, the network has brought together 180 researchers and 14 active research groups, with a presence in 27 countries, organizing interdisciplinary work groups to discuss common themes and contribute to intercultural and interreligious dialogue.
