Casa Árabe and the PHotoESPAÑA Festival are presenting this call for
curators to select an exhibition proposal of a photographic nature. The
deadline for submitting candidacies is January 31, 2022.
Casa Árabe and the PHotoESPAÑA Festival continue their fruitful cooperation, which has led to various photography exhibitions organized at the Casa Árabe headquarters in Madrid over the past few years. Followinf the success of the first edition, Casa Árabe and PHotoEspaña are jointly presenting NUR | نور (Luz), an open call to select an exhibition proposal of a photographic nature to be presented at the Casa Árabe headquarters as part of the twenty-fifth PHotoESPAÑA International Photography Festival, which will be held in June 2022.
The purpose of this open call for entries is to lend visibility and increase awareness about a project that offers a look at one or several aspects of Arab societies from a contemporary curatorial perspective. This call aims to reward efforts in innovation, while conveying up-to-date content related with real-life situations in the contemporary Arab world.
The call for entries is aimed at curators and institutions. The project will be selected by a jury and an evaluation commission, which this year includes two new collaborating entities: the Bienal Fotografia do Porto and Tribe Photo Magazine.
The selected project will be shown to the public through an exhibition to be held at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid (at Calle Alcalá, 62) in June 2022, as part of the twenty-fifth edition of the PHotoEspaña Festival.
The deadline for submitting candidate projects will is January 31, 2022.
