With the cooperation of the Sheikh Zayed Book Award, Casa Árabe is presenting the works of Moroccan writer Latifa Labsir. The event will be taking place on Tuesday, June 9, as part of the Madrid Book Fair.
Latifa Labsir is a Moroccan writer (Casablanca, 1965). She is a professor of Modern Literature at the Université Hassan II in Casablanca. She has had several collections of short stories published and has hosted the program “Salón Cultural,” broadcast in a collaboration between Deutsche Welle and the Moroccan national television network. Labsir has published numerous articles in Moroccan and Middle Eastern magazines, and since 2008 she has been publishing monthly columns and articles on literature in the Moroccan women’s magazine “Women of Morocco.” For many years, she has led and continues to lead creative writing workshops at the University School of Arts and Humanities in Casablanca and at various institutions and associations in Morocco.
The event forms part of the Casa Árabe’s twentieth anniversary and the Sheikh Zayed Book Award. It will include participation by the author, Latifa Labsir, who will be holding a talk with Antonio Martínez Castro. Presented and moderated by: Karim Hauser, Casa Árabe’s Cultural Events Coordinator.
