On Thursday, May 14, the third of our workshops dedicated to Averroes will be taking place in Cordoba, where we will get the chance to build a sundial inspired by models made in Al-Andalus. Get your ticket now and don’t miss out!
Twelfth-century Cordoba was a center of scientific development where disciplines such as astronomy gained great prominence.
At this workshop, participants will build a sundial inspired by models made in Al-Andalus, learning how observation of the sky made it possible to measure time. The activity highlights the value that Ibn Rushd (Averroes) placed on reason and observation as tools for understanding the world.
