  • Exhibition: “Mirage City: Baghdad, from Wright to Venturi” in Madrid

    From October 10 to November 9, Casa Árabe hosted the exhibition “Mirage City: Baghdad, from Wright to Venturi” at its Madrid headquarters.The opening of the exhibition, curated by Pedro Azara, included a conference with the participation of Ghada Siliq, a professor at the University of Baghdad.

    Casa Árabe presents, from April 5th to May 3rd, documentaries and fiction films carried out within a common biographic profile of certain relevant characters of the social, cultural or political Arab world. Through the cinema, public will come closer to the lives of Umm Kulzum, Muhammad Asad, Mahmoud Darwish and Emir Abd- El-Kader.

    Casa Árabe, in collaboration with the Town Council of Seville, organizes the photographic exhibition Iraqi Voices, executed by young Iraqi journalists of the independent news agency Aswat al-Iraq (Voices of Iraq). It will be open untill 30th of April.

    April 7th, Barcelona holds a round table on Arabs in Latin America grounded on the publication of the books Los árabes en América Latina [Arabs in Latin America] coedited by Casa Árabe and Siglo XXI, and Contribuciones de los árabes a las identidades iberoamericanas [The Arab contributions to Ibero-American identities], published by Casa Árabe.

    Exhibition Solo las horas [Just the hours] in Cordoba

    The exhibition, organized by Juan Ramón Barbancho, projects the video Solo las horas…, by Pepa Rubio, a documentary which reflects the course of the daily life in a former palace in Fez, today opened to the public to be visited.
