MADRID / CÓRDOBA
The agreement, signed by Casa Árabe’s director, Irene Lozano, and the director of TBA21, Carlos Urroz, at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Madrid, will initially last three years.
It provides for a field of collaboration to take form in activities related to the objectives sought by both entities, including the joint programming of talks, residency programs and productions by artists, curators and researchers linked to those of TBA21’s projects which are related to Casa Árabe’s activities, to Cordoba’s Arab and Moorish legacy and to research into new plastic languages in which they have all resonated in the broadest sense.
The conversations titled “Sweet Encounters / Dulces encuentros” to be held next Sunday, June 5 at Casa Árabe’s headquarters in Cordoba, will mark the beginning of this collaboration, bringing together the artists and curators taking part in TBA21’s public program “Pasaje del agua” (“The Journeying Stream”). Attending the event will be Marina Avia, Madison Bycroft, Léo Landon Barret and Nana (Anaïs) Pinay, Seba Calfuqueo, Barbara Casavecchia, Laia Estruch, Soledad Gutiérrez, Sofia Lemos, Ernesto Neto, Olaf Nicolai, Diana Policarpo, Matthew Ritchie, Daniel Steegmann Mangrané, Markus Reymann and Daniela Zyman.
“Pasaje del Agua / The Journeying Stream” is a three-day schedule of performances, meditations, music and talks organized by TBA21 Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary and TBA21-Academy to celebrate the foundations of this collaboration between the Foundation and the city of Cordoba.
