Casa Árabe signs an agreement with the Bait al Zubair Foundation in Oman 

On Thursday, October 2, the two institutions signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) under which they will be establishing future forms of collaboration on cultural affairs. The event took place to mark the holding of “Country Focus: Oman” at Casa Árabe during the second half of 2025.

Attending the event where the signing was carried out were Mohra Al Zubair, advisor, and Mohamed Abdulkarim Al Shahi, cultural advisor, both of whom are members of the board of directors of the Bait al Zubair Foundation; SE Sheikh Khalifa al Harthy, Secretary of State for Political Affairs of Oman; the Ambassador of Oman to Spain, the honorable Mr. Thamir bin Faiz Al-Alawi; on behalf of Casa Árabe its General Director, Miguel Moro Aguilar, and our Programming Coordinator, Cristina Juarranz; and on behalf of Spain’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, European Union, and Cooperation, the Secretary of State for Foreign and Global Affairs, Diego Martínez Belío, as well as the Director General for the Maghreb, Mediterranean and Middle East, Carmen Magariños

Opened in 1998 as Oman’s first private museum, Bait al Zubair pays tribute to the country’s heritage. The museum exhibits a collection of Omani archeological items spanning several centuries, and is considered the finest privately owned collection in existence. Its ethnographic pieces reflect the highly specialized inherited knowledge which defines Omani society, both past and present. Exhibits of traditional dress from every province in Oman also showcase the celebration of diversity in Omani culture.

In 2005, Bait Al Zubair became a cultural foundation devoted to serving the local community and others.Over the years, Bait Al Zubair has grown to become a cultural center, heading innovative cultural projects, events and initiatives. 

During the second half of 2025, Casa Árabe will be centering a portion of its programming on “Country Focus: Oman,which will include a variety of activities for learning about the cultural richness, investment opportunities and reality of this Gulf nation.

Oman at Casa Árabe 

As part of the “Country Focus: Oman” program taking place at Casa Árabe during the second half of 2025, the institution is hosting two days devoted to the country, including an exhibition, a concert and a conference. The events are being held to mark the visit by H.E. Sheikh Khalifa al Harthy, Secretary of State for Political Affairs. They will be taking place on the dates of October 2 and 3.
