In 2024, Jordan was the “Country Focus” at Casa Árabe. Within this framework, Casa Árabe and the Embassy of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, in conjunction with that country’s Tourist Office, organized the exhibition “Faces and Traces of Jordan,” with photographs by Ghassan Sela and sculptures by Anees Maani that could be seen both at the Casa Árabe headquarters in Madrid and in Cordoba. The event also included the screening of the Jordanian films “The Alleys” and “Theeb” (“Wolf”), and a concert was organized by the Amman Chamber Orchestra.
Spain and Jordan are united by strong historical ties and share political, economic and cultural interests. Spanish-Jordanian relations have traditionally been very close and are characterized both by a lack of bilateral disputes and their coinciding positions on regional and global political issues. In recent years, bilateral relations have been diversifying and have now been extended to include fields such as defense, security, development aid and culture. These relations are favored by a fluid exchange of visits at different levels in both directions.
