Bilateral relations between Spain and Kuwait are excellent. Kuwait provides significant logistical support to Spanish units deployed in Iraq and Kuwait as part of the International Coalition fighting ISIS. Kuwait is home to the Coalition’s headquarters.
Bilateral trade between Spain and Kuwait has been characterized, on the one hand, by the diverse nature of Spanish exports, with a focus on the machinery and clothing and apparel sectors (30 Spanish brands), whereas Spain imports petrochemical industry derivatives.
Miguel Moro Aguilar, Casa Árabe’s General Director, was Ambassador to Kuwait from 2020 to 2024.
