Madrid’s Chamber of Commerce devotes a day of activities to Qatar

The event will be taking place on April 26. It is now possible to register.

Qatar is one of the wealthiest economies in the world and among the top countries in terms of GDP per capita, at 53,000 euros. It has a local population of 2.7 million inhabitants and plentiful natural gas and oil reserves (51% of GDP). Qatar is the third largest producer of natural gas in the world and exports 75% of its production.

With an open economy, it has a very liberal trade system with low customs duties, free capital movement and an excellent geographic location. Qatar’s government has started up projects such as the Qatar National Railway System, with 35 billion US dollars, and projects for water and electricity valued at 22 billion US dollars, up to year of 2020. Moreover, the upcoming World Cup to be held in 2022 will require investments amounting to 24 billion US dollars.
