Meeting with the Chargé d’Affaires of the League of Arab States Office 

Suadad Nabeel Najm Al Tekreeti, Chargé d’Affaires of the League of Arab States office in Madrid, met today with Miguel Moro Aguilar, Director General of Casa Árabe. 

During the meeting, held on September 15, the two diplomats discussed current geopolitical developments in the region and reviewed recent collaborations between the two institutions.

Casa Árabe’s relationship with the Arab League’s mission in Spain has always been smooth. The former Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, who concluded his term last July, has visited Casa Árabe on several occasions, most recently for the presentation of his autobiography, *Witness to War and Peace* (2025).  In 2024, on the occasion of the 79th anniversary of the League of Arab States and World Arabic Language Day, the Council of Arab Ambassadors organized a tribute event at Casa Árabe in recognition of its track record, as well as the work of its Language Center in promoting the teaching of the Arabic language in Spain.

Ms. Suadad Nabeel Najm Al Tekreet has headed the League of Arab States office since last August, following the passing of Ambassador Malek Twal, her predecessor in the position.
