Tunisia, with more than 11 million inhabitants, is among the most competitive economies in the Arab world and Africa. Tunisia provides companies with a top-rate business atmosphere and a privileged geographic location amid Europe, the Middle East and Africa, just a two-hour flight from the most important European capitals. The competitiveness of its companies is also favored by the population’s high level of education, improvements in macroeconomic management and its public institutions. Tunisia is ranked number one in North Africa in terms of attracting talent, according to the Global Talent Competitiveness Index.

In 2019, Spanish exports were 789 million euros and imports 605 million euros, with a surplus of 184 million euros for Spain, which shows just how well trade relations flow between the two countries. In May 2019, the Tunisian Parliament approved the Agreement between Spain’s Official Credit Institute (ICO) and Tunisia for the opening of a credit line of 25 million euros to develop small and medium projects and SMEs.
