Women’s Week at Casa Árabe
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, held each year on March 8,
Casa Árabe has organized a full schedule of activities in the upcoming
days, with women playing the main roles.

Monday, March 4 at 6:00 p.m. “Moroccan Women of Past and Present” with Rajae Al Khamsi and Josefina López Bueno, at an event which forms part of the series titled “Talks That Taste like Tea: Spanish-Moroccan dialogues,” to be held in the months of March through June 2019. Tuesday, March 5 at 7:00 p.m. Presentation of the book “A Tear, A Smile: My childhood in Damascus,” with the presence of its author, Luna al Mousli. Organized with the cooperation of the Austria Forum (Casa Árabe Madrid).
Friday, March 8 at 7:30 p.m. First session in the film series “Contemporary Arab Women Directors” with the film “Mary Shelley,” by Saudi director Haifaa Al Mansour.(Casa Árabe Madrid).
Sunday, March 10 at 7:30 p.m. Theatrical show “Tagine, a History Cooked over Flames” by actress Farah Hamed. Organized as part of the festival “Ellas crean” at (Casa Árabe Madrid).
Plus, throughout the month of March, at its Madrid and Cordoba headquarters (and the Euro-Arab Foundation in Granada), Casa Árabe is screening a film series titled “Contemporary Arab Women Directors,” organized with the cooperation of the Cinema by Women Festival. Five films by five Arab women directors will be shown, from Palestine, Egypt, Morocco and Saudi Arabia.
